The new year is a great way to naturally reset habits or goals and even though I don’t officially make resolutions, it’s nice to set some healthy standards for yourself. One of these is to mealprep filling, healthy meals or snacks for the work week which includes these Vanilla Cardamom Overnight Oats!
An easy make ahead for the next day, you add all the ingredients together the night before and the next morning you have breakfast ready to go! I personally make my overnight oats in a mason jar so it’s easily portable to take to work, but I’ve also used a tupperware and it worked just as well. You can use whatever type of milk you like or have on hand, but to make these vegan friendly I used vanilla barley milk. If you don’t have vanilla flavored milk, use the same amount of plain milk and add ¼ tsp of vanilla extract.
I top mine with some jam or preserves, a swirl of honey, and whatever fruit I have, but they’d be delicious plain or with other toppings like granola. Totally customizable with what you have in your kitchen.
Vanilla Cardamom Overnight Oats
- 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 1 ½ cups barley milk
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp cardamom
- Add all ingredients to a mason jar or container with a lid and stir.
- Refrigerate overnight or atleast 8 hours and enjoy!
